We discovered Bronchocela cyanopalpebra from Car Nicobar Island. This species is allied to the Indonesian species, Bronchocela cristatellla. Five species of forest dwelling Bronchocela are now known from Nicobar Archipelago.
Etymology:
The specific epithet cyanopalpebra is a noun in apposition referring to the bright blue (=cyan) coloured eyelid (=palpebra), a diagnostic character of this species.
